Since April 2022, as FoBP treasurer, I am responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and for the FoBP bank account. I ensure that payments are made in a timely manner and that the bank account is reconciled with financial records.  I am an experienced chair having co-chaired a Committee for Insight Investments for eight years and have been dealing with board committees for over 25 years. I have a background of 30 years in finance in the banking sector and am skilled banking systems.  I am a team player, good listener and willing to share my views.

Last and not least, I love Broomfield Park and care about it.

Kim Lumley – Apiary and Habitats I have been an active member of FoBP committee for the past eight years and was co-chair from 2018 to 2023. I have been involved in a wide range of park activities starting with a role as beekeeper in the apiary with a particular focus on developing and managing the natural environment and habitats within the park and working with young people in groups along with other volunteers.  As previous co-chair I have taken a lead part in re-organizing and rebranding the FoBP as an effective volunteer organization and worked to develop a broad volunteer base with a wide range of park activities.  My areas of interest are the apiary, wildlife, habitats and trees. I have played an active part in a wide number of activities and events, but I have a particular role in developing school visits from local primary schools and developing new activities to engage 11-18 year olds . I participate with  school visits focussing particularly on the wetlands and am also supporting the development of a larger team of new volunteers to assist with all of the school groups. I regularly volunteer at the Palmers  Greenery Community Café which offers an excellent opportunity to meet the local community as well as other volunteers in the park. My background is in education and, as a senior manager in schools, I can draw on my wide experience in working collaboratively with people to inspire children’s learning. I am currently a governor of a primary school in Enfield. Elena Phrydas – Lakes Team  I  volunteer with the Broomfield Park “Lakes Action Team”. We regularly care for and monitor the waterfowl, water quality and natural environment. I enjoy a proactive approach to working and developing working relationships with external organisations on projects to improve the park and engaging the local community to improve general wellbeing and connection with nature. My experience can help park users to enjoy the park whilst looking after natural spaces and keeping wildlife healthy and safe.

Jean Thomas– Deputy Treasurer  As a parent of primary school children, I became an active volunteer helping with organising and leading the FoBP school visits and supporting other lead volunteers.  I am keen to explore how families can be engaged and more involved  in the work of FoBP.

I am also confident with finances and accounting and use these skills in supporting the treasurer and co-chair.  I have extensive experience in contracting professional services in tech, financial services, and hospitality sectors. I work with cross disciplinarily teams and can offer good project management and organisational skills.  I’ve also got young children and can offer suggestions/feedback on FoBP activity from a parent perspective.  I’m passionate about engaging with schools and how we can offer enrichment activities for children outside of their school environment. I was Vice Chair at Walker Primary PTA from 2019-2021 and an active volunteer in 2022 and 2023. In my role as a PTA committee member at Walker school, I led multiple fundraising activities which helped with creating an outdoor classroom and purchasing equipment for the new school playground. My professional work and experiences can be used to share some of the treasurer’s workload.

Susan Younger – Remembrance garden  I am an active committee member who regularly stewards in the Conservatory and has championed the Remembrance Garden. I obtained a large grant for its restoration, wrote the information board, and have organised the Remembrance Service with local schools for the last ten years. I have a longstanding interest in the lakes, birdlife, and biodiversity of the park and support projects to protect the essential features of the park such as the restoration of the boating pond and the replacement of trees and plants.  As a retired primary school teacher and school governor I like working with children in the park. I belong to the over 50s weekly walking group, have attended various exercise classes and can reflect a wide range of views. The park needs to cater for all visitors from those wanting active sports to others wanting to relax in a safe and attractive green space.
