Welcome to The Friends of Broomfield Park 

We are a dedicated volunteer group committed to preserving and enhancing Broomfield Park in Palmers Green, North London.

Broomfield Park is a historic and scenic green space featuring beautiful plant borders, open landscapes, lakes, sports facilities  and a playground for children.

Through fundraising, advocacy, and hands-on projects, The Friends of Broomfield Park play a crucial role in maintaining this cherished green space for future generations.

  • Volunteering roles:


    • Contribute to helping in your local park
    • Gardening and maintenance of various habitats
    • Supporting the setup, running and taking down of events
    • Assisting with planning and problem solving in existing and new projects
    • Organising and supervising workgroups 
    • Organising and supporting the supervision of visiting groups
    • Photographing and documenting events and activities
    • Use of social media to promote activities
    • Leading and developing new projects

    We currently have over 140 volunteers working across a wide range of activities that includes:

    • Horticulture, helping to maintain flower beds within the historic walled gardens and making the wonderful  conservatory such a magical place to visit.
    • The Palmers Greenery Community Cafe - a local community hub, volunteer-led and not for profit, which supports many amazing projects in the park
    • Wetlands, wildlife pond and habitats - increasing biodiversity 
    • Events which promote a sense of community and help to raise funds for the park
    • Education - class visits, workshops and outdoor learning opportunities for local school groups
